Having beautiful teeth that last a lifetime depends largely on personal home care - eating balanced meals, fewer snacks, and brushing and flossing to help control the plaque and bacteria that cause dental disease.
- Tooth brushing – Brush your teeth at least twice a day with an approved (soft to super-soft)bristle brush and toothpaste. Electric toothbrushes are also recommended - easy to use and can remove plaque efficiently.
- Flossing – Daily flossing is the best way to clean between the teeth and under the gum line. Flossing disrupts plaque colonies, preventing damage to the gums, teeth, and bone.
- Rinsing – It is important to rinse your mouth after brushing, with water or an over-the-counter rinsing product.
- Other Dental Aids – such as inter-dental brushes, rubber tip stimulators, tongue cleaners, irrigation devices, fluoride rinses, medicated rinses, etc., can all help in dental home care.
